Israeli forces storm East Jerusalem town of Silwan
JERUSALEM, January 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces stormed, on Wednesday evening, the East Jerusalem town of Silwan, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The Governorate said that Israeli forces stormed the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan, in continuation of a policy of repeated raids that have become almost daily, particularly during evening hours. In a statement, the Jerusalem Governorate added that Israeli forces raided several citizens’ homes last night, assaulted and beat several residents, fired sound bombs and tear gas canisters inside the neighborhood, and caused extensive damage to the contents of homes. One young man was detained during the raid.
