HM the King: A Just and Sustainable Solution to the Palestinian Cause Cannot be Discussed without a Serious and Responsible Approach to the Issue of Al-Quds Asharif.
New York – HM King Mohammed VI affirmed that a just and sustainable solution to the Palestinian cause cannot be envisaged without a serious and responsible approach to the issue of Al-Quds Asharif, given the strong symbolism and high sensitivity of the Holy City. His Majesty stated, in a message addressed to Mr. Cheikh Niang, Chair of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People—observed this year on 25 November—that in recognition of this dimension, he continues, in his capacity as Chair of the Al-Quds Committee under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC), to exert tireless efforts to safeguard the city’s authentic civilizational character, preserve its legal status, and protect the sanctity of its Islamic and Christian holy sites. This is achieved through a combination of diplomatic action and fieldwork, embodied particularly in the social projects implemented by BMAQ.
