Israel/ OPT: End brutal repression of Palestinians protesting forced displacement in occupied East Jerusalem
Amnesty International has condemned Israeli security forces for using excessive and unlawful force against mostly peaceful Palestinian protesters in East Jerusalem, particularly in Sheikh Jarrah and around the al-Aqsa mosque. The violence, which has left over 840 Palestinians injured, stems from rising tensions over forced evictions of Palestinian families to make way for Israeli settlers. Amnesty calls these evictions a violation of international law and potentially a war crime, urging the international community to hold Israel accountable and stop the ongoing forced displacement.
