WCC presentation raises awareness on protecting Jerusalem as a city holy to the three monotheistic religions
Over 50 diplomats and development agency representatives attended a WCC event highlighting the importance of freedom of worship in Jerusalem. George Sahhar, advocacy officer for the WCC Jerusalem Liaison Office, emphasized equal religious rights for all faiths in the Holy City. A new WCC video was presented, addressing ongoing threats to worship freedom, especially for Christians and Muslims. Sahhar also shared facts on East Jerusalem's demographics and urged participants to advocate for unimpeded access to holy sites, especially during key religious events like Ramadan, Palm Sunday, and Holy Fire Saturday.
