Anatomy of Inequality

In 1948, the Palestinian population was forcibly displaced from West Jerusalem. Following the 1967 war, Israel annexed East Jerusalem, incorporating its largely Palestinian population. Today, the Israeli-controlled Jerusalem municipality implements policies and laws that support the expansion of Israeli settlements while maintaining demographic control—aiming to keep the Palestinian population below 40% of the city’s total residents.
