“Jerusalem Through a New Lens: Raed Saadeh’s Interactive Model”
The "Mosaic of Marum" is an interactive, three-dimensional model of Jerusalem's Old City, created by Raed Saadeh, owner of the Jerusalem Hotel in East Jerusalem. The 2x2 meter model, developed in 2022, features puzzle pieces representing 26 historical sites and communities, each linked to a screen providing detailed information. Saadeh, deeply invested in Jerusalem’s cultural heritage, designed the model to challenge stereotypes and encourage a deeper understanding of the city's diverse history. Soon, the model may be relocated to Khan Tankaz, a Mamluk-era caravanserai. Alongside this, the Jerusalem Hotel offers other interactive experiences, such as an augmented reality mirror that allows visitors to see themselves in historical costumes.
