Conference: The Impacts of Collective Punishment Measures on Palestinian Women in Occupied East Jerusalem
On February 8th, six Palestinian civil society organizations held a briefing on the impact of collective punishment measures on Palestinian women in East Jerusalem. The session addressed Israeli practices like punitive residency revocations, house demolitions, movement restrictions, and other forms of harassment. The organizations provided a historical context and legal analysis of collective punishment under international law, highlighting the cases of families such as the Abu Jamal, Dweiat, and Qunbar families. The briefing concluded with recommendations urging the international community to pressure Israel to cease these punitive measures.
