Overlooking the Annexation Wall
On the seventh anniversary of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on the legality of the Israeli Annexation Wall in the West Bank, Al-Haq calls on the international community to fulfill its legal obligations. The ICJ declared the Wall illegal, as it annexes Palestinian land, cuts off East Jerusalem, and denies Palestinians their right to self-determination. Despite this, States have failed to act, and Israeli courts have supported the Wall's construction. Al-Haq has taken legal action against companies facilitating the Wall's construction but stresses the need for stronger international measures to pressure Israel to halt its annexationist policies.
