Muhammad Mafarjah, 16, from Shu’fat Refugee Camp in East Jerusalem
Muhammad Mafarjah, a minor from Shu’fat refugee camp, recounts his experience of arrest and detention. Border Police raided his home at night, assaulted him, and detained him on allegations of stone-throwing. During months in custody across multiple facilities, he endured physical abuse, malnutrition, overcrowded cells, inadequate hygiene, and harsh interrogations. Despite confessing under duress, he was sentenced to six months but released early after five. His family paid a fine, and he suffered significant weight loss and lasting physical and emotional scars.
