Beiti: Jerusalem

June 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Yabous Cultural Centre and Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre invites you to attend the pilot launch screening of the short films created as part of the “Beiti: Jerusalem” project on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Cinema Al Quds, Yabous Cultural Centre, 10 Al-Zahra Street, Jerusalem.
These five short films were produced within the framework of “Beiti: Jerusalem,” a project implemented in Jerusalem through a partnership between Yabous Cultural Centre and Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre. The films emerged from a series of movement-based, intellectual, and conceptual workshops led by the theatre’s artistic team and hosted at the Centre.
Inspired by previous works and productions developed by Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre and its artists, the project explores questions of home, belonging, and identity, seeking to examine personal and lived relationships with place. The theatre also envisions expanding the project to other Palestinian cities, carrying with it the notion of home as it exists within the memories and emotions of participants, not merely as a physical space, but as a human experience and a lived reality.
What does home in Jerusalem mean to us? What does it mean to the Participants? And how can we tell the story of “Beiti:Jerusalem”?
Join us for this special evening to watch the five short films, meet the participants and project team, and learn about their creative journeys in exploring this artistic medium and translating the concept of home, its presence or absence, through their personal experiences.
Participants:
Aden Azzam, Shahd Jabarin, Dima Alaa Eldin, Nadeem Kalouti, and Hiba Zuhaika.
The film screenings will be followed by an open discussion with the participants and the project team.

The project was supported by the British Council.
