The Humanitarian Crisis In The Gaza Strip And The Occupied West Bank, Including East Jerusalem

The Israeli government has instructed Israeli forces to expand military control to up to 70 per cent of the Gaza Strip. Current control is estimated at approximately 65 per cent, including the so-called “Orange Area.” Further expansion of the militarised area would likely trigger large-scale displacement, exacerbate overcrowding in other parts of the Gaza Strip, and significantly constrain humanitarian access — directly undermining UNRWA operations. Currently, 126 UNRWA facilities are located within the Israeli-militarised zone behind the so-called “Yellow Line”, as well as in areas within the “Orange Line” where access is subject to Israeli approval or coordination.
