SUMMARY:Wardrobe and Costume Design for Film
DESCRIPTION:The course focuses on the aesthetical and technical role of the Costume Designer in storytelling and character design. From investigation of the story and its social and cultural environment\, to researching character and how to create a vision for memorable costume designs.\n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how to utilize available wardrobe\, textiles and costume collections to achieve a look for a character.\n\n\nParticipants leave with a core understanding of garment design\, acquisition\, alteration and creation.\n\n\n\nEmphasis will be placed on the day-to-day work of the costume designers and their team during pre-production and production and the running of a costume department.\n\n\n\nTutor: Hamada Atallah\nCourse duration: six weeks\nCost: 300 shekels\nDate and time: Every Wednesday at 4 PM – Starting November 27th\nLocation: Al Ma’mal Studios – Muristan Road – Old city\, Jerusalem\n\n\n\nGraphic design and illustration: @anakebco – @michaelmjabareen\n\n\n\nRegistration link:\nhttps://forms.gle/3su6uPwyR1T2dCpSA\n\n\n\n\n\nWho is Hamada Atallah ?\nHamada Atallah is a fashion designer and has taught craft and design since 1992. Atallah has worked extensively as a costume designer in film and on the stage. Film credits include Rana’s Wedding\, Divine Intervention\, Salt of this Sea\, The Well\, Bottle in the Sea of Gaza\, Alata – Darkness\, Man Without a Cell Phone\, Tanathor Last days in Jerusalem and most recently Omar\, The Attack\, Inheritance\, When I Saw You\, The Reports on Sarah and Saleem\, Dégradé and 3000 Nights. Theatre work includes ‘Jidariyeh’\, ‘Eyes That See’\, ‘Handala’ at the Palestinian National Theater and ‘Gilgamesh He is Not Dead’ and ‘Shams’ at Al-Hakawati in France.
